The Palace of Culture ( Albanian  Pallati i Kulturës ) in the Albanian capital Tirana is the largest cultural center in the country and houses the most important cultural institutions of Albania such as the National Library of Albania (Biblioteka Kombëtare e Shqipërisë) and the " Theater of Opera and Ballet " (Teatri i Operas dhe Baletit) .

The Palace of Culture was built in the 1960s during the redesign of Skanderbeg Square , the city's main square, as the first and central building on the site of the old Bazar district . Both the old bazaar and the Stërmasi Mosque, which had been built between 1837 and 1840, were destroyed for this. Construction work on the “Palace” began in 1960 and was completed in 1966. The palace rests on a plinth to which around a dozen steps lead up. Towards the square, the no-frills building welcomes the viewer with a long portico consisting of 18 narrow, but very deep columns. Two wings of about the same length at right angles give the illusion of a very large, compact building. The southern wing with the library is rather narrow, the northern wing, in which the theater is housed, more than twice as wide. The Kulturpalast is flanked by the Et'hem Bey Mosque in the south and the Tirana International Hotel in the north.

The building has 240 rooms - the largest hall can accommodate 1000 people. Its stage, including the revolving stage, is 550 m² and 30 meters high. It also has exhibition and conference rooms, as well as a café. The National Library houses a collection of over a million works - books, maps, periodicals , microfilms, etc. - making it the largest in the country.
