Kungssången

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The original music for male choir by Otto Lindblad.

Ur svenska hjärtans djup en gång (“Once from the depths of Swedish hearts”) is the Swedish king's song (Kungssången) and is a symbol of the Swedes' love for their king and their nation .

The text is by Carl Wilhelm August Strandberg , the music for male choir by Otto Lindblad . The song was premiered on December 5, 1844 at a celebration of Lund University on the occasion of King Oscar I's accession to the throne and was officially named King's Song in 1893, replacing the previous royal hymn Bevare Gud vår kung (“God forbid our King”), which was sung to the tune of the British royal anthem God Save the King .

Most Swedes only know the first verse , if at all . The song is sung when the king appears in the theater or concert hall , for example , and everyone stands up if they are seated.

In addition to Sweden, Denmark , Norway and Thailand also have royal songs.

1
Ur svenska hjärtans djup en gång
en samfälld and en grandson sång,
som går till kungen fram!
Var honom trofast och hans ätt,
gör kronan på hans hjässa lätt,
och all din tro till honom sätt,
you folk av frejdad stam!

2
O konung, folkets majesty
är även ditt: beskärma det
och värna det från fall!
Stå oss all världens härar mot,
vi blinka ej för deras hot:
vi lägga dem inför din fot -
en kunglig fotapall.

3
Men stundar ock vårt fall en dag,
från dina skuldror purple day,
lyft av dig kronans tvång
och drag de kära färger på, the
gamla gula och det blå, also with
ett svärd i handen gå
till kamp also undergång!

4
Och grip vår sista fana du
och dristeliga for ännu
i doden dina men!
Ditt trogna folk med hjältemod
skall sömma av sitt bästa blod
en kunglig purple varm och god,
och svepa dig i den.

5
You himlens Herrre, with oss var,
som förr du med oss varit har, also
liva on the beach of the
gamla lynnets kind of
pants och man.
Oh,
let's go to northern land

1
Once from the depths of Swedish hearts,
a common and simple song that
goes to the king!
Be loyal to him and his race,
make the crown light on his head,
and put all your faith in him,
you people of a famous tribe!

2
O king, the majesty of the people
is yours also; shield them
and protect them from fall!
If all the armies of the world oppose
us , we do not wink at their threat:
We put them in front of your foot -
a royal footstool.

3
But if our fall is
about to come one day, take the purple from your shoulders,
lift the compulsion of the crown
and put on the beloved colors,
the old yellow and the blue,
and with a sword in hand go
to battle and ruin !

4
And take up our last flag, you,
and fearlessly lead
your men even in death.
Your loyal people with heroism
will sew
a royal purple warm and good out of their best blood ,
and cover you in it.

5
You Lord of Heaven, be with us
as you were with us before,
and on our shores revive
the old soul
with the Svea king and his men.
And let your mind rest
over the north country!
