The Kuolajoki ( Russian Куолайоки ) is a river in northern Finland and in the Russian Oblast of Murmansk .
The river has its origin in the small lake Wuosnayarwi in the Murmansk Oblast in Russia . From there it flows first in a northerly direction, flowing through the lakes Apajarwi and Kuolajarwi . Then he turns to the west. The Sallajoki ( Russian Саллайоки ) flows into the Kuolajoki when coming from the south. The Kuolajoki crosses the border with Finnish Lapland . There it runs within the municipality of Salla and finally flows into the Tenniöjoki , a tributary of the Kemijoki . The river has a length of 58 kilometers.
