Tenniöjoki ( Russian Тенниё-йоки, Тенниёйоки, Тенниёёки ) is a river in Russia and Finland .
The river has its source on Mount Mikkelitunturi across the Russian-Finnish border in Kandalaksha Raion of Murmansk Oblast . From there it flows south and forms the state border for several kilometers. Then it turns to the southeast and flows through Russian territory. On its way south it flows through Lake Tenniojarwi and the smaller lakes Sotkajarwi and Autiojarwi . Finally it turns west and after a stretch of flow of 73 kilometers crosses the border into Finland. A few kilometers across the border, it takes up the Naruskajoki coming from the north . Later the Kuolajoki meets the Tenniöjoki coming from the south. The Tenniöjoki flows a total of 53 km within Finland, exclusively within the municipal boundaries of Salla and Savukoski , in a westerly and later to a northwest direction. At the place Savukoski it flows into the Kemijoki .
