Kupol Chugunova (English transcription from Russian Купол Чугунова Kupol Tschugunowa ) is the highest point on the Chugunov Island off the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land .
Russian scientists named it after the name of the island of the same name. It is named after the Soviet atmospheric researcher NA Tschugunow, who was killed by falling ice with his fellow expedition MI Rochlin in January 1958 on board a research ship in the Antarctic.
