Curate Church of Marul

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kuratienkirche St. Katharina is a Roman Catholic church in the Marul district in the municipality of Raggal in the Großer Walsertal and is surrounded by a walled cemetery.

The beginning of 1670 was a wayside shrine, to which a Liebfrauenkapelle was built in 1687. The chapel was raised to local chaplaincy in 1738 . A new church was built in 1756 and the steeple was built in 1757. The nave is completed with a wooden ceiling. The glass windows in the chancel and the tabernacle are based on a design by Mila Bjelik-Stöhr from 1948. The wooden reliefs Annunciation and Holy Family from 1950 and 1952 are by Käthe Sinz. The Stations of the Cross in fresco as well as a mural Archangel Michael in fresco at the war memorial are by Andreas Amann from 1949.

The organ from 1901 is from the organ builder Anton Behmann .
