Marul
Marul is a part of the municipality Raggal in the Großer Walsertal in Vorarlberg.
Marul is at 978 m above sea level. A. on a hillside above the Marulbach and was only developed with a road in 1934. Because of the single-layer nature of the place, which for centuries could only be reached on foot, the Katharinenkirche was elevated to the status of a curate church .
The Lasanggabach , also called Marulbach , which separates Marul from the mountain village of Raggal, is characteristic of the village . The oldest covered wooden bridge in Vorarlberg's Lasanggabrücke from 1789 is no longer in use or is now used as a crossing point for hiking trails. The engineering achievement for the Marulbach Bridge from 1985 is remarkable, which achieves a long stretch of the route and thus a lowering of the gradient thanks to an extensive horizontal arch.
There is a village shop open on weekdays in the tiny town.
Marul can be reached with the regional bus route 78 of the Vorarlberg transport association. From Marul there is a minibus line ("Wanderbus" line 79, increased fare) from around mid-June to the end of September on the toll road, which is closed to general traffic, to the Untere Laguzalpe (around 1583 m above sea level ).
Hiking trails from Marul lead, among other things, on the Hohe Fraßen (3 hours) and over the Laguzalpen to the Freiburger Hütte (5½ hours without using the hiking bus).
