The Freiburger Hütte is an Alpine Club hut of the Freiburg-Breisgau section of the German Alpine Club . It is located in the Lechquellen Mountains above the Formarinsee opposite the Rote Wand and claims to be family-friendly. The hut is a base for mountaineering training by the DAV.
history
The Freiburger Hütte was built in 1912 and expanded from 1975 to 1977. She has had a photovoltaic system since 1993 ; a block-type thermal power station also provides electricity and heat.
Until 1958, the goods were transported to and from the shelter by Muli through the Schmiedtobel. From then on there was a material ropeway , the valley station of which was near the Formarinalpe. After the road around the Formarinsee was completed in 1975, the material ropeway was removed in 1979.
Ascent
- Normal route from Dalaas through the Schmiedetobel: Dalaas train station ( 930 m above sea level , no train stop) - Mason - Mustrinalpe - Rauhe Staffel - Freiburger Hütte, approx. 3 hours, 1000 meters in altitude. (In winter the access from Dalaas is at risk of avalanches ).
- From Inner- or Außenerbraz (Masonweg): Innerbraz (704 m above sea level) - Rosengarten - Malarsch - Mason-Alpe - Gwurfjoch (2070 m above sea level) - Friedhöfle to the Freiburger Hütte, 5 hours.
- From Lech (also possible by bike): From the Formarin-Alpe ( 1871 m above sea level ) via the Felsensteig on the east side of the lake in 25 minutes or on the road in 30 to 45 minutes to the hut. To Formarinsee via a toll road, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. only with the hiking bus (30 minutes) from Lech. Alternatively (without hiking bus / car): Lech - Zug - Unterälpele - Formarin-Alpe to the Freiburger Hütte; approx. 4½ hours.
- From Großwalsertal : Various, sometimes long, ascent routes:
- From Buchboden via Bad Rotenbrunnen - Gaden-Alpe - Madona-Alpe - Klesenza-Alpe to the Freiburger Hütte in 8½ hours. From Marul via Staffelfeder-Alpe - Upper Partnom-Alpe - Garmil - Lower Laguz-Alpe - Upper Laguz-Alpe - Lange Furka to the Freiburger Hütte in 5½ hours.
- Via Nova-Alpe - Fürkele - Faludriga-Alpe - Lange Furka to the Freiburger Hütte in 6½ to 7 hours.
- A minibus line (line 79 of the Vorarlberg transport association , higher fare because of the toll road) to the Untere Laguzalpe (around 1583 m above sea level ) is set up from Marul from around mid-June to the end of September .
- From the Elsalpe via Gamsfreiheit and Falidruga-Alpe 5¾ hours.
Transitions
- To the Göppinger hut through the Johanneswanne in 4½ hours.
- To the Ravensburger Hut : Steinernes Meer - Gehrengrat - Spullersee - Ravensburger Hut, 4½ hours. In unsafe conditions through the Lechtal via the Tannläger-Alpe in 3½ to 4 hours.
- To the Fraßenhaus : Via Schwarze Furka - Falidrugaalpe - Gamsfreiheit - Elsalpe - Tiefenseesattel in 6½ hours. The earlier route Masonweg - Hinterbirg - Sättele - Elsalpe - Tiefenseesattel - Fraßenhaus ( 1725 m above sea level ) in 5½ to 6 hours is not recommended (the Hinterbirgweg, which was once laid out through rubble heaps, has fallen into disrepair and is hardly recognizable there.)
Transalp
The Freiburger Hütte is an important base for activities in the sense of a transalp tour by mountain bike , during which the Alps are crossed. The hut has been approached on the Heckmair route since 1989, and on the Joe route since 1995 . Both alpine trails end on Lake Garda .
