The Freiburg-Breisgau section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) e. V. ( DAV Freiburg for short ) is a section of the German Alpine Club in Freiburg im Breisgau . It was founded on January 17, 1881. The DAV Freiburg is one of the oldest and with 16,052 members (as of December 31, 2019) one of the largest sections of the German Alpine Club in 13th place as well as one of the larger sports clubs in Germany , after the SC Freiburg .
history
In 1919, the second section "Breisgau" was founded in Freiburg, clearly differentiating it from the existing dignitaries section. In 1969 the partnership with the Franche Comté Club Alpine Français Besançon section of the Club Alpin Français was concluded. 1981 100th anniversary of the section with 3217 members, partnership with the Padua section of the Club Alpino Italiano .
