Kurokami ( Japanese 黒 神 , German "Black God") is a manga by the two South Koreans Dall-Young Lim (text) and Sung-woo Park . Since it is intended for the Japanese market, it was first written in Korean, but then translated into Japanese.

Towards the end of 2008, the manga was through the studio Sunrise as Anime - television series adapted.

terminology

The plot of Kurokami takes place in a fictional world which, although outwardly corresponds to the real world, has some special features. In it exist the so-called Mototsumitama (also called Tera Guardian ), which have supernatural abilities and are supposed to maintain the “balance of existence”. However, some of them became corrupt, causing conflict between them. Ordinary people, on the other hand, are referred to as double liners . There are always exactly three pieces of them, which have exactly the same external appearance. However, there is among these a root (Engl. Root ) and 2 copies. If one copy meets the other, the “luck” of both is transferred to the root ; if a copy hits the root only that of the respective copy. The people who have lost their happiness as a result, very soon die in simple accidents. However, when the root unites the happiness of the other people, he becomes the master root and possesses supernatural happiness and success. By betraying this knowledge to normal people, the Negative Root arose - people who killed their root and were given all their happiness. In addition to this happiness, they also gain superhuman abilities that a normal root does not have.

The Mototsumitama it is still possible a Contract (Engl. Pact ) to respond to a man by both parts of her body interact with each other. As a result, both can get into a state called synchro and give the Mototsumitama much more power. To do this, however, the partners must have the same will. The force released by Synchro is referred to as Exceed , which expresses itself differently with each Mototsumitama and puts the human partner in mortal danger if the stress is too high.

action

A few years before the main act, Keita Ibuki is out with his mother. They notice a doppelganger of his mother. Subconsciously, the entire "happiness" of his mother is transferred to the stranger. Lost by her luck, Keita's mother is soon run over by a car in front of his eyes. Shocked by this, he works as a game programmer a few years later (in the anime he is a normal student) and has all his hands to do with staying afloat.

One day he meets at a Ramenstand the Mototsumitama Kuro, in the form of a young girl but neglected. Keita offers her something to eat and gets into conversation with her because of his observation of doppelgangers. While trying to clear him up, Kuro is attacked by a master root . In the following fight, Keita is near death when he loses his arm (in the anime his heart is injured) and could only be saved by Kuro exchanging her arm (in the anime heart) with his and thus making a pact with him. In the anime, however, Kuro was able to defeat the Master Root normally and disappears shortly afterwards. However, the two meet again later and are shortly afterwards attacked by the leader of the Master Root who had attacked them before. Kuro can defeat him, but Keita is seriously injured and Kuro can only save him by exchanging her heart with his and making a pact with him. Thereupon they insist on difficult times and fight against the Shishigami clan to prevent the brother from imbalancing the world. They understand each other better and better, which can also be felt in combat, because both become stronger through the synchronization. Together they fly to Okinawa , where they meet Kuro's brother, but cannot defeat him in battle. However, Kuraki, Keita's former school friend, is able to defeat Renshin with his Mototsumitama and pull into a black hole that was triggered by the destruction of a sacred stone.
