The Kurpark Friedrichshagen is located in the Berlin district of Friedrichshagen in the Treptow-Köpenick district .
Location, development
The parking area is north of the Berlin S-Bahn , on which the S-Bahn line 3 runs. In the northwest, the street Hinter dem Kurpark and the Dr.-Jacoby-Weg border the green area, while it ends in the east of the van der Dahlwitzer Landstraße . The German Bahn AG has redesigned the access area. An arborist group from the Office for Environment and Nature Conservation of the Treptow-Köpenick District Office takes care of the condition of the plants in the spa park . Nevertheless, the overall condition of the park does not meet the expectations of most visitors.
There is a new playground , tennis courts and the clubhouse of the TC Orange-Weiß as well as an open-air stage right in the spa gardens .
history
At the end of the 19th century, the community representatives of the then city of Cöpenick sought to develop Friedrichshagen into a health resort. Among other things, a spa park should be created for this purpose. In 1880, the community leased the site for a period of 18 years and built a drinking hall, a medical pavilion and a spa restaurant with a music hall on it. In 1914, the community expanded the facility with a few tennis courts and in 1930 with the Friedrichshagen nature theater . The facility was destroyed in the Second World War , but rebuilt in 1958.
At the northern exit of the S-Bahn station, a boulder with a plaque has been commemorating the doctor Max Jacoby (1845–1912) since July 10, 2015 . His services to the common good as well as his commitment to the Jewish community were honored with a bust erected in 1913 , which was destroyed by the National Socialists in 1935.
