The post mile column is one of the architectural monuments in Lübbenau .

history

The pillar made of Elbe sandstone was probably erected at its current location after 1740 and is likely to have come from the stonemasonry workshops in Dresden , like almost all of the Lower Lusatian post mile pillars in Saxony.

In 1976, the pillar was restored by the local stonemason, Zahl and moved in front of the Nicolaikirche in the old town instead of the war memorial. Restored again in 2003 by a Berlin company, after a referendum it was relocated to the oldest known original location. The unused writing block (shaft) of the column has been in the town hall since 2005.

construction

The distance column consists of seven parts. The base, pedestal and the crown of the pedestal form the substructure. The superstructure consists of an intermediate plate, shaft, coat of arms and tip.
