Kurt-Ulrich Jäschke

Kurt-Ulrich Jäschke (born March 6, 1938 in Langfuhr ) is a German historian who researches the history of the Middle Ages .

Life

After receiving his doctorate from Helmut Beumann on February 26, 1964 as Dr. phil. at the University of Bonn and his habilitation at the University of Marburg in 1969, he became a professor there in 1971 . In 1979 he was appointed to the Saarland University. He has been retired since 2003.

Jäschke's main research interests include historical auxiliary sciences , the history of political ideas , medieval historiography and hagiography as well as the history of England in the Middle Ages. As part of the Regesta Imperii , he is working on the preparation of the documents of the Roman-German ruler Heinrich VII.
