Kurt Blavier

Kurt Blavier (born May 9, 1886 in Strasburg , West Prussia , † 1938 ) was a German politician in Danzig and a victim of Nazi Germany .

Life

Kurt Blavier studied law and graduated with a doctorate in law. jur. et rer. pole. from. He became a councilor.

Politically, he belonged to the German-Danzig People's Party (DVP) and was a member of the state parliament in the People's Day in Danzig from 1924 to 1937 . From 1931 to 1933 he was a member of the Ziehm Senate as an honorary Senator for Business, Transport and Labor. He was chairman of the Gdansk House and Landowners Association. On May 28, 1937, he was arrested because of an article with the title "Dream Dancer" in the newsletter of the association "Die Neue Zeit" and taken into " protective custody " until at least February 1938 . He was forced to renounce his mandate while in custody and died. The magazine was banned for eight months.

The professor at the TH Danzig , Alfred Kalähne, succeeded in the state parliament . For fear of the National Socialists (his wife Anne had also been a member of the state parliament and was arrested in 1933) he did not accept the mandate. The successor was Paul Jonas .
