Kurt Bröhl

Kurt Bröhl (born June 13, 1932 in Cologne ; † May 11, 2019 in Hürth ) was a German local politician. From 1974 to 1975 he was mayor of the city of Erftstadt .

Local politics

Kurt Bröhl had been a member of the SPD since 1956 . He was chairman of the SPD district in Cologne-Ehrenfeld . Since the mid-1960s he has been involved in Erftstadt, primarily in the non-profit building association. From 1997 to 2010 he was its chairman. For 14 years - from 1969 to 1983 - he was a member of the Erftstadt city council. He was also a member of the Euskirchen district council and the Erftkreis . From 1969 to 1974 he was a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly .

On May 24, 1974, he succeeded Werner Tiemanns as the third mayor of Erftstadt. He held this office for a year, namely until May 22, 1975, after which he was replaced by Erich Schramm. For his services he was awarded the Circle of Honor and in 1985 the Carl Schurz Medal .

Kurt Bröhl died in 2019. He was buried in the Liblar cemetery.
