Kurt Eder

Kurt Eder (born November 18, 1946 in Alfeld an der Leine , Lower Saxony ) is an Austrian authorized signatory , politician ( SPÖ ) and former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Kurt Eder first attended elementary school and five classes in a middle school before he began a commercial apprenticeship. The trained industrial clerk completed the social academy and completed training in cost accounting. In 1966 Eder did his military service .

Kurt Eder joined OMV AG in 1962 as a commercial clerk , took over the commercial management of the central technical operations in 1978 and has been head of energy coordination projects since 1990. He has the professional title of commercial councilor .

Political career

Kurt Eder began his political career as a district councilor in Vienna - Floridsdorf . He exercised this position between 1977 and 1981 and was club chairman of the SPÖ in Floridsdorf from 1978 to 1981. In 1981 Eder moved to the Vienna State Parliament and City Council until 1987 . On November 24, 1987 Eder was sworn in as a member of the National Council. The longtime energy spokesman was most recently chairman of the transport committee and represented the SPÖ in the budget, buildings, finance, economy and main committee. After the SPÖ parliamentary club had decided to publish the additional income of the MPs, Eder resigned his mandate on December 31, 2007. He had previously refused to disclose his earnings as an OMV employee.

Kurt Eder was chairman of the SPÖ Floridsdorf from 1990 to 2010, has been a member of the SPÖ Vienna regional party committee since 1994, and a member of the regional party presidium and deputy party chairman of the SPÖ Vienna since 1996.
