Kurt Fischer (Admiral)

Kurt Fischer (born January 17, 1937 in Bad Oldesloe ) is a German flotilla admiral .

Career

Kurt Fischer is the son of the mayor of Ahrensburg, Kurt Fischer (politician, 1910) and passed his Abitur in 1957 at the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg . In 1958 he went to the German Navy . There he completed training as a naval officer and naval aviator. From 1965 to 1971 he studied history, geography and politics at the universities in Kiel and Hamburg (degree: doctorate). He then worked in the Ministry of Defense, from 1974 to 1976 in the Federal Press Office and from 1980 as Flotilla Admiral head of the military policy department of the Bonn NATO embassy in Brussels . In 1993 he retired.
