Kurt Fischer (politician, 1910)

Kurt Fischer (born January 6, 1910 in Berlin , † December 19, 1969 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German civil servant and local politician .

The non-party fisherman was full-time mayor of Ahrensburg ( Stormarn district ) from 1954 to 1966 , after he had previously been city treasurer there. During Fischer's tenure, the city, which was previously practically insolvent, was financially rehabilitated and the infrastructure adapted to the needs of a rapidly growing community.

Fischer succeeded z. B. against the competition of other Hamburg surrounding communities to move the printing company of Axel Springer Verlag in Ahrensburg, which not only created 1,400 direct jobs, but also led to the establishment of further suppliers. During his tenure, new schools were also built for the rapidly growing city and the nationwide sewer system was implemented.

His son is the retired Flotilla Admiral Kurt Fischer .
