Kurt hanging basket

Kurt hanging basket (born August 25, 1886 in Cotta near Dresden as Robert Curt hanging basket , † 1962 in Dresden) was a German poet.

Life

Hanging basket, son of factory worker Moritz Robert Hängekorb, was a painter by profession . As early as the early 1920s he published (under the pseudonym Robert Kurt ) in the USPD press.

In the GDR he was considered a so-called worker poet. One of his best-known works is the text for the song Because today is your birthday (melody Siegfried Bimberg ). The target group of his texts were children.

The painter Rudolf Nehmer portrayed the hanging basket in 1951 in the oil painting The Worker Poet Kurt Hanging Basket .
