Kurt Herlth

Kurt Herlth (born February 24, 1896 in Wriezen ; † July 17, 1966 in Berlin ; born Kurt Otto Albert Herlth ) was a German set designer .

Life

The younger brother of the production designer Robert Herlth studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and initially worked as a structural engineer in Berlin.

Through his brother's mediation, he also got into film and, after a short period of assistance, was placed at the side of the experienced Werner Schlichting . Herlth worked at Schlichting's side until 1941, then with various co-architects, including his brother Robert Herlth.

After the Second World War he was initially in the service of DEFA . From 1952 he worked for West German film companies, among others with the directors Kurt Hoffmann and Harald Braun .
