Kurt Kirtschig

Kurt Kirtschig (born February 15, 1928 in Breslau ; † June 26, 2008 in Hanover ) was a German civil engineer.

Kirtschig studied civil engineering at what was then the Technical University of Hanover and was awarded a Dr.-Ing. In 1961 with his work on the characteristic sizes of the bending pressure zone of concrete . PhD . In 1968 he completed his habilitation with a paper on the subsequent determination of the composition of concrete.

For many years he was a professor of building materials science and material testing as well as engineering masonry at the University of Hanover . He provided the essential basics in masonry construction and was involved in German and European standardization .
