Kurt Schäfer

Kurt Schäfer (born August 2, 1915 in Mannheim , † June 7, 1944 ) was a German football player .

The center forward came to VfB Stuttgart from SV Waldhof Mannheim in 1934 . In 1935, Schäfer played his first games in the Gauliga Württemberg for the first team of the then German runner-up . When VfB Stuttgart finished third in the championship finals two years later, Schäfer was together with Erich Koch in the league of VfB players with the most goals. He was in the finals of the German championship for VfB 14 times and scored 10 goals. In the Second World War Shepherd, who served as an ordinary soldier fell. He found his final resting place on the war cemetery at the main cemetery in Mannheim.
