KuschelRock is a regular music compilation . The KuschelRock edition has been published since 1987 .

history

The first KuschelRock was released on November 23, 1987 on two separate CDs, two MCs and three LPs by the CBS - Columbia Records . At that time the CDs still had 2 × 18 songs. A new edition was published on February 2, 2004 with 17 + 18 titles. Due to the great success, the other KuschelRock issues appeared every year.

Due to their great success, KuschelRock 1–14 were re-released on February 2, 2004 as a new edition (sometimes with fewer songs). The album series is particularly successful in Switzerland. So far, the records published there have been awarded a total of six gold and 31 platinum records. The KuschelRock edition is distributed by Sony Music .

In July 2018, issues 1 to 10 were published in a best-of version. The KuschelRock issues 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8 as well as 9 and 10 were each combined on a double CD as a best-of album.

Remarks

Even before the first album was released, “Kuschelrock” was the name of a weekly night music program on the radio station hr3 , which was invented, developed and moderated by Thomas Koschwitz . Koschwitz is therefore considered to be the co-inventor of the album series. Because BMG secured the name, hr3 was unable to continue broadcasting this program.
