Kvalfinnen (Norwegian for whale fin ) is a 2670 m high mountain ridge in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the Sør Rondane mountains, it rises on the western flank of Byrdbreen and 800 m north of Isachsenfjella .
Norwegian cartographers, who also used the descriptive naming, mapped it in 1957 using aerial photographs taken during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) carried out by the United States Navy .
