The Byrdbreen is a glacier in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . With a length of 65 km and a width of 17 km it is the largest glacier in the Sør Rondane mountains and flows in a north-westerly direction between the mountains Bergersenfjella and Balchenfjella .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). It is named after the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd (1888–1957), head of this research trip. There is a risk of confusion with the Byrd Glacier in the Transantarctic Mountains.
