Kwesi Botchwey

Kwesi Botchwey is a leading politician and university lecturer in Ghana .

education

Botchwey holds an LL.B. degree in law from the University of Ghana in Legon, Accra . He later moved to the law school of Yale University in the USA to take a Masters ( LL.M. ) in law. He received his PhD from the University of Michigan .

Politician

Botchwey had first in the military junta under Jerry Rawlings (1981-1992) and later during the presidency of Rawlings (1992-2001) after the democratization of the country, the post of finance minister in Ghana between 1982 and 1995.

University professor

After receiving his PhD, Botchwey taught at the University of Zambia , the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and the University of Ghana.

Botchwey worked at Harvard University and later moved to Tufts University, where he holds the Chair of Economic Development Professor of Practice in Development Economics .
