Kyōhei Yamagata ( Japanese 山形 恭 平 Yamagata Kyōhei ; born September 7, 1981 in Fukuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Yamagata learned to play soccer on the school team at Higashi Fukuoka High School . He signed his first contract in 2000 with the Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . At the end of the 2002 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . He played seven league games for the club. In 2004 he moved to league rivals Avispa Fukuoka . In 2005 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. At the end of the 2006 season, the club rose again from the J2 League. For the club he completed 113 league games. He then played for the V-Varen Nagasaki . At the end of 2008 he ended his career as a football player.
