Kymi ( Greek Κύμη [ ˈkʲimi ], ( f. Sg. )) Is a small town on the east coast of the Greek island of Evia with (2011) 2870 inhabitants.

Until 2010 it also formed a community with numerous surrounding villages, which on the occasion of the Kallikratis program was merged with four other communities in the newly created community Kymi-Aliveri and has since formed a district of the same.

The city of Kymi is about 250 m above sea level. The ancient city of Kyme, whose roots go back far into antiquity, may have given its name to the oldest Greek colony Cumae in southern Italy. Today, the place is characterized by internal Greek tourism, especially as a seaside resort and marina for vacationers from the Athens metropolitan area and for Greeks with roots from Kymi. In summer, the population can sometimes reach 20,000. Kymi has the only port on the east coast of the island, from here there are ferry connections to the island of Skyros and the Northern Sporades .

The southern village of Oxylithos (Οξύλιθος, ( m. Sg. )), Which, as the name ("pointed stone") suggests, lies on the slope of a pointed hill of volcanic origin, belongs to Kymi .

Kymi is the birthplace of the medical doctor George Nicolas Papanicolaou .
