Kyocera Document Solutions is a provider of solutions and services in the field of document management and enterprise content management. In addition to network-compatible Ecosys printers and multifunctional systems, the product range also includes consumables as well as workflow or DMS solutions and Managed Document Services (MDS). The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kyocera Corporation in Japan.
history
In 2000, the Kyocera Group took over the copier manufacturer Mita Industrial Co. and spun off Kyocera Mita based in Osaka . Kyocera was active in output management and network connectivity, while Mita specialized in copiers and multifunction devices. As a result of the merger, Kyocera Mita grew into a company for digital office systems with products in the areas of print, copy, scan and fax. It employs around 12,300 people.
On April 1, 2012, Kyocera MITA renamed Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. worldwide.
The headquarters are in Osaka . The German branch with 250 employees (sales and marketing) is located in Meerbusch - Osterath . The managing director is Dietmar Nick.
On June 5, 2012, the company took over AKI GmbH from Würzburg , a provider of software-based print management solutions. AKI will remain as the provider of the "PrinTaurus" software in the regions of Germany, Austria and Switzerland ( DACH ).
On September 1, 2015, the company took over the Ceyoniq Group, a provider of digital document management and enterprise content management solutions (DMS / ECM). Ceyoniq will remain as an independent provider with the “nscale” platform. This is intended to support companies in the optimization and automation of document-intensive business processes. At the beginning of 2016, based on this development, a separate DMS / ECM business area was founded and customized workflow and DMS solutions were marketed.
The company has been a new partner in the OFFICE 21 research network, an initiative of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization (IAO), since 2011. From January 1, 2005 to 2009, the company was the main sponsor of the Borussia Mönchengladbach soccer club and is currently a premium partner and, since November 2010, a premium partner of the German Hockey Association .

Kyocera Document Solutions Europe BV coordinates the company's activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from its headquarters in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands.
There are 15 local offices in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Russia. They also work with a network of authorized dealers from 60 other countries in the region.
In addition, the European Sales & Marketing Center , based in Meerbusch , oversees the Europe-wide planning and implementation of all sales and marketing activities. The European Service Center, responsible for product and customer support, is also located in Meerbusch.
Products
In addition to printers and multifunctional devices ( hardware ), the products also include so-called "solutions" ( software ), which are offered for the areas of security, system management, output management and document management .
Printers will be built with photoconductor drums made of amorphous silicon (a-Si) and PSLP drums for entry-level printers.
At drupa 2012, the company presented the first color toner made from biomass. 30 percent of this is based on renewable raw materials.
Environmental commitment
We have been working with Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) since 1987 . As part of this cooperation, the Kyocera environmental award , worth 100,000 euros, emerged. The aim of this is to promote CO 2 -reducing projects in medium-sized companies.
To make product recycling easier, all products have a modular structure. Neither plastics nor polystyrene parts are used in the packaging. In addition, the organization “myclimate” has been supported since 2011 as part of the “PRINT GREEN” program. The aim is to make the entire printer production chain - including toner consumption - climate-neutral by promoting environmental protection projects.
In 1997, the B / W laser printer FS-1700 was the first printing device to receive a "Blue Angel" due to the Ecosys technology. In August 2014, a total of 50 systems from the company were awarded the Blue Angel according to the new RAL-UZ 171 award guideline.
