Kyōshō

Kyōshō KK ( Japanese 京 商 株式会社 , Kyōshō kabushiki kaisha , English Kyosho Corp. ) is a Japanese manufacturer of beginner / amateur / professional RC remote-controlled models of all classes and categories as well as toy grade toys and collectors , which has been operating successfully since October 10, 1963 Die-cast models. Kyosho employs over 60 people in Japan, with offices in the USA ( California ) and France. The company's headquarters are in Chiyoda , Tokyo Prefecture ; the meanwhile old business headquarters with its own RC car race track is located in Atsugi , Kanagawa Prefecture . Kyosho is one of the higher value price classes in Rc model making.

In 1970 Kyosho presented the prototype of the first remote-controlled model car ever in 1/8 scale with a combustion engine . A Futaba system from model aircraft construction was used for steering. The name of the vehicle was Dash 1 . A short time later, the first races with remote-controlled cars were held within Japan and later worldwide.

  • 2013 - Kyosho Germany in Kaltenkirchen stops sales in Europe; Targeted bankruptcy by the well-known German model building and toy manager Bernd Moebus.
  • 2013 - Robbe Modellsport takes over the distribution of Kyosho Germany and then went bankrupt in 2015. All products were sold at almost 70% discount through Staufenbiel / Horizon Hobby in mid-July due to insolvency. Dealers complained about very poor or hardly available information from Robbe Modellsport.
  • 2016 - Founding of Kyosho Europe; France location with a new website.

According to Kyosho CEO Katsumi Watanabe, rc models with gasoline engines on a smaller scale are in development and there is a flagship store in Tokyo. Kyosho Europe (France) is currently responsible for sales in Germany.
