László Jeney

László Jeney (born May 30, 1923 in Cluj-Napoca , † April 24, 2006 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian water polo player .

László Jeney made 64 appearances for Hungary as a goalkeeper. He was with the Hungarian national water polo team in 1952 and 1956 Olympic champion. In 1948 he finished second in the Olympic Games and won bronze at the 1960 Games . 1954 and 1958 Jeney was European champion with the Hungarian team.

After the Hungarian uprising was bloodily suppressed in 1956 , Jeney was one of the six players who did not return to Hungary immediately after the 1956 Olympic Games. In 1958 he was already a member of the Hungarian team again.
