László Radics

László Radics (born August 22, 1949 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian agricultural scientist at the Corvinus University of Budapest . He is a specialist in organic farming research and a representative of Hungary in the European Herbologists Association.

Life

After attending school and completing specialist agricultural training in the state domain of Kiskunsag, he studied agricultural science at the Szent István University in Gödöllö . In 1977 he was awarded a Dr. sc. agr. did his doctorate and, in addition to the research assignment, also took on teaching tasks in soil cultivation, crop cultivation and weed control.

His research results in ecological weed control led to his appointment as visiting professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna . After his habilitation in 1991, he was appointed professor of crop production and head of the institute for horticulture and organic farming at the Corvinus University in Budapest. As part of his research, he is networked with universities around the world, including the German universities of Bonn , Kassel and Hohenheim .

Research and publications

On the one hand, Radics stands in the research tradition of classical crop production, on the other hand, it tries to research current questions of food production under ecological guidelines. He is a much sought-after speaker at agricultural science congresses; Together with his colleagues, he has written 382 publications in the past years (1973–2013), is involved in the publication of 50 specialist books on organic crop production and is a scientific member of the international Biofector project .
