Veit Roessner

Veit Rößner (born August 26, 1973 in Bamberg ) is a German child and youth psychiatrist, university professor and clinic director.

Life

Rößner studied human medicine from 1993 to 2000 at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg , where he received his doctorate in 2000 . From 2003 he worked as a research assistant and senior physician with Aribert Rothenberger at the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. There he completed his training as a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy in 2006 . In 2008 he was at the Georg-August University in Göttingen in field child and adolescent psychiatry habilitation . He has been a professor at the Technical University of Dresden since 2009 and has been Medical Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden since July 1, 2009 .

research

Since 2003 Rößner has been dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and causes of tic disorders , Tourette syndrome , ADHD and obsessive-compulsive disorder . With his participation, the European guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of tic disorders / Tourette's syndrome were created.

Veit Rößner is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Tourette Society Germany and the European Society for the Study of Tourette Syndrome (ESSTS).
