Lázaro Maikel Ruíz
Lázaro Maikel Ruíz Gasso (born October 12, 1984 in Havana ) is a Cuban weightlifter .
Career
Ruíz reached tenth place in the class up to 56 kg at the 2006 World Championships . In 2008 he won bronze at the Pan American Championships in the class up to 62 kg. In the same year he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing , where he was sixth. In 2009 he won gold at the Pan American Championships and finished seventh at the World Championships . At the Pan American Championships in 2010 he was again first. However, he was tested positive for boldenone during the doping control and banned for two years. After his suspension, Ruíz won bronze in the Pan American Championships 2013 in the class up to 56 kg and reached fifth place at the 2013 World Championships . At the Pan American Championships in 2014, he won the silver medal in the class up to 62 kg.
