2009 World Weightlifting Championships

The 2009 World Weightlifting Championships took place from November 20-29 , 2009 in Goyang , South Korea . It was the 77th men's world championships and also the 20th women's.

• Tom Schwarzbach , class up to 85 kg, 10th place in a duel with 346 kg (150 kg + 196 kg)
• Jürgen Spieß , class up to 94 kg, was unable to take part due to a back injury
• Matthias Steiner , class over 105 kg, did not take part due to insufficient preparation
• Almir Velagic , class over 105 kg, 6th place in the duel and the two individual disciplines with 413 kg (185 kg + 228 kg)
