Nizami Paşayev (born February 2, 1981 ) is an Azerbaijani weightlifter .
Career
He won two World Championships in 2002 in the category up to 94 kg with a total performance of 392.5 kg and in 2005 with 401 kg and won a silver medal at the 2001 World Championships with 405 kg. Next to it is a gold medal in 2001, which he won at the European Championships with 387.5 kg.
Multiple doping offenses
In 2006 he was convicted of doping and banned for two years. Paşayev was not deterred by this, however. Immediately after the ban, he also appeared doped at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . The extensive follow-up tests in 2016 found that he had consumed dehydrochloromethyltestosterone , oxandrolone and stanozolol .
