The Fatjanowo culture (Russian Фатья́новская культу́ра, scientific legend Fat'janovskaja Kul'tura ) is an archaeological culture of the end Neolithic between the upper Daugava in the west to the upper Volga in the east. It is named after a burial ground near the village of Fatjanowo in Yaroslavl Oblast ( Russia ). The dates are still very inconsistent: According to Brockhaus Archeology (2009), the oldest finds (weapons and tools made of stone and copper, cord ceramics ) date to around 2500 BC. According to Anthony (2007), the Fatjanowo culture dates from 3200 to 2300 BC. Chr.
The Fatjanovo culture was followed by the Bronze Age Abashevo culture , which, according to Anthony, was c. 2500 BC on the basis of several radiocarbon dates. Began.
The three regional groups, which cannot be divided at the same time, go back to cattle breeding tribes whose ceramics , weapons and burial rituals (shallow graves and cremations ) show strong similarities with the corded ceramic culture .
