Dmitri Walentinowitsch Lapikow ( Russian Дмитрий Валентинович Лапиков , scientific transliteration Dmitri Walentinowitsch Lapikow ; born June 4, 1982 in Kaliningrad ) is a Russian weightlifter .
Career
Lapikov's first senior world championships were in Doha in 2005, where he took fourth place with 408.0 kg (185.0 / 223.0 kg) in the heavyweight category up to 105 kg. A year later he won silver in Santo Domingo with 414.0 kg (194.0 / 220.0 kg) behind Marcin Dołęga , who achieved 415.0 kg. In 2007 he won bronze at the European Championships in Strasbourg with 402.0 kg (185.0 / 217.0 kg).
In 2009 Lapikow was second at the World Championships in Bucharest in the class up to 105 kg. In Goyang he mastered 416.0 kg (194.0 / 222.0 kg) in a duel. After his first shock attempt with 222.0 kg, he failed twice at 227.0 kg, which would have meant gold in front of Dolega with 421.0 kg due to his lower body weight.
At the Russian championships in July 2010 in Kursk , Lapikow competed in the super heavyweight over 105 kg for the first time. Here he was able to win the title in a duel with 440.0 kg (200.0 / 240.0 kg). Yevgeny Tschigischew had not started because of a small hand injury.
doping
At the European Championships in Kazan in 2011 , Lapikov was first first. Here, however, he could very quickly be found guilty of doping . The International Weightlifting Federation (IMF) disqualified him for taking methylhexanamine and issued a ban from May 13, 2011 to May 13, 2013. That Lapikow was a notorious repeat offender, it turned out during the follow-up tests for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing . Back then, the Russian had already doped and sneaked a third place with the help of the doping agent stanozolol . The bronze medal he won was revoked .
