1951 World Weightlifting Championships

The 29th World Weightlifting Championships took place from October 26th to 28th, 1951 in the Italian city ​​of Milan . 62 weightlifters from 14 nations took part in the competitions held by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) in a three-way fight (two-armed pushing, tearing and pushing) . For the first time, the championships were held in seven weight classes, an American prevailed in four categories, an Egyptian and an Iranian bantamweight in two.
