Khalifa Said Gouda (born April 16, 1931 ) is a former Egyptian weightlifter.

Career

Said Gouda grew up in the area of Alexandria and was also enthusiastic about this sport because of the great successes of Egyptian weightlifters at the time. After he had achieved his first successes at regional championships and showed good approaches, Sayed Nosseir , the then head of the association and state trainer of the Egyptian weightlifters, took him on and led them into the Egyptian top class in the early 1950s. When in 1950 the world featherweight champion Mahmoud Fayad was banned from the Egyptian Federation for alleged violations of amateur status, he was surprisingly used in 1951 at the 1951 World Championships in Milan and even more surprisingly won the world title. By 1955 he was among the best in the world, first in featherweight, then in lightweight.
