Meng Suping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meng Suping (born July 17, 1989 ) is a Chinese weightlifter . In 2010 and 2014 she was vice world champion in the weight class over 75 kg body weight ( heavyweight )

Career

Meng Suping is from Anhui Province . Nothing is known about her beginnings as a weight lifter or about her trainer. She first appeared in 2009 when she took 4th place in the Chinese championship of women in heavyweight with a duel of 313 kg (134-179). The 2nd place in this championship went to Zhou Lulu with 323 kg (148-175), which will be her main rival in China in the further career of Meng Suping. Somewhat surprisingly, Meng Suping was then used by the Chinese Weightlifting Association in November 2009 at the Women's World Cup in Goyang. She came there to a duel performance of 296 kg (131-165) and placed behind the Olympic champion of 2008 Jang Mi-ran from South Korea, 323 kg (136-187) and Tatjana Kaschirina from Russia, 303 kg (138-165) 3rd place. She also won a bronze medal for her individual performances in tearing and pushing.

In 2010 Meng Suping competed in the Women's World Cup in Almaty. She reached there in a duel 310 kg (131-179) and thus finished behind Tatjina Kaschirina, who increased to 315 kg (145-170), the 2nd place, before Jang Mi-ran, which in Almaty only to 309 kg (130-179) came. With her shock performance of 179 kg she even won the World Cup gold medal. In November 2010 she was also at the Asian Games in Guangzhou at the start and achieved there 311 kg (135-176), which she finished behind Jang Mi-ran, who also came to 311 kg (130-181), in 2nd place .

In April 2011 Meng Suping was Asian champion in Tongling / China with 304 kg (134-170) before Zhou Lulu, who came to 299 kg (141-158). In November 2011, in the absence of Zhou Lulu, she had the great chance to become Chinese heavyweight champion for the first time. But she couldn't use this chance because all three attempts failed. Chinese heavyweight champion of this year was therefore Liu Xue, who came to 300 kg (145-183). Meng Suping won at least the push at this championship with 182 kg.

In April 2012, a decision was made as part of the Chinese championship who would represent China at the Olympic Games in London. Meng Suping came there with a duel of 318 kg (140-178) on the 2nd place behind Zhou Lulu, which increased to 328 kg (145-183) and then in London was also Olympic champion before Tatjana Kaschirina. For Meng Suping the only consolation was the victory in November 2012 at the Universities World Cup in Eilat / Israel, where she achieved 323 kg (135-188) in a duel.

2013 and 2014 Meng Suping with 319 kg (138-181) and 304 kg (128-176) was each Chinese runner-up, each time Zhou Lulu, who at these championships 330 kg (147-183) and 323 kg (142–181) scored, had to give way. In 2014, Meng Suping was used instead of Zhou Lulu at the Women's World Cup in Almaty. She achieved there in the duel 320 kg (140-180), which she finished behind the outstanding Tatjana Kaschirina in this championship, who came to 348 kg (155-193), both in the duel and in tearing and pushing the 2nd place.
