Sarah Robles

Sarah Robles (born August 1, 1988 in San Diego ) is an American weightlifter .

Career

Robles was Junior World Champion in 2008. In 2009 she reached fifth place in the super heavyweight division at the Pan American Championships. At the World Championships in the same year she was eleventh. At the Pan American Championships 2010 she won the silver medal and at the 2010 World Championships she was tenth. In 2011 she was second in the snatch at the Pan American Games , but did not make a valid attempt in pushing. At the 2011 World Championships she was tenth again. Next year, Robles took part in the Olympic Games in part in London, where she reached the seventh place. In 2013 she won the gold medal at the Pan American Championships. Shortly afterwards, however, she was tested positive for DHEA , testosterone and pregnanediol during a doping control and was banned for two years. After her suspension, she won bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics . She won gold at the 2017 World Championships . In 2017 and 2018 she became Pan American champion.
