The Lëtzebuerger Journal is a daily newspaper published in Luxembourg .

The Lëtzebuerger Journal emerged from the Obermosel-Zeitung founded in Grevenmacher in 1881 and the d'Unio'n , which was published between 1944 and 1948 by the resistance movement at the time and was temporarily completely edited in Luxembourgish . It has been published under its own head since April 5, 1948, is published by Editions Lëtzebuerger Journal and is printed in the Editpress printing center in Esch-Alzette with an average of 10,000 copies. According to TNS Ilres, the newspaper only had 5,700 readers in 2018. It thus reaches 1.2% of the population of Luxembourg. The Lëtzebuerger Journal is via the press helpsubsidized by the Luxembourg state. In 2017 this amount was 948,754 euros.

At the end of 2011, Gusty Graas was replaced as managing director by Marc Hansen. The editor-in-chief is Claude Karger. After Marc Hansen moved to parliament in February 2014 and then to government, Claude Karger was also entrusted with the management.

In 2011, Editions Lëtzebuerger Journal took over 8% of their capital due to a new partnership with Éditpress Luxembourg SA . This means that the publishing house of the Journal "will be able to fall back on the skills and experience within the multi and cross-media group from Esch".

The newspaper is considered liberal and was close to the Democratic Party (DP) until 2012 . In connection with the cooperation with Éditpress, the newspaper is no longer a party newspaper, but has an independent editorial team that developed a new concept for the newspaper in 2012. Since September 25, 2012 it has been published six times a week.

The current managing director is Claude Karger.
