The Löbau-Zittauer Eisenbahngesellschaft was a railway company in Saxony . She was the owner of the Löbau – Zittau railway in Upper Lusatia .

history

The Löbau-Zittau Railway Company , based in Zittau , was granted the concession to build a railway on June 25, 1845 to connect the factory town of Zittau to the Dresden – Görlitz railway line of the Saxon-Silesian Railway Company . The 34 km long route began in Löbau and reached the town of Zittau in a south-easterly direction through Oberlausitz via Großschweidnitz - Herrnhut - Oberoderwitz . The opening took place on June 10, 1848. The Löbau-Zittauer Eisenbahn carried out the operation itself.

With effect from January 1, 1871, the railway became the property of the Kgl. Saxon State Railways , which had taken on this task since 1851 - when the previous operator had been transferred to the state.
