history

The Löseckehaus after reconstruction (2017)

The Lösecke house was built at the beginning of the 16th century as a multi-storey half-timbered building on the Lüneburg stint market. In 1860 the building burned down for the first time and was then rebuilt slightly modified. The building owes its current name, which was emblazoned on the facade on the river side until the second fire, to the entrepreneur Georg von Lösecke . In 1888 Lösecke Am Stintmarkt 3 founded his wine shop, which also offered its own liqueurs, which were known throughout Northern Germany at the time. He organized wine tastings on his veranda on Sundays, which soon became the main meeting place for the Lüneburg business community. In 1991, Heinz Eggert GmbH bought many old recipes and the naming rights to Georg von Lösecke , which means that the traditional name is still alive today.

On the night of December 2, 2013, the Lösecke house again burned down completely as a result of arson. All the residents of the house were able to save themselves. 300 emergency services fought the fire and were only able to prevent the flames from spreading to the outbuildings with great difficulty. The arsonist has not yet been identified, despite a public search in the television program Aktenzeichen XY and the formation of a special commission . The panorama of the stint market, also known from the ARD series Rote Rosen , lost an important building for the overall picture with the Lösecke-Haus.

The owner decided promptly to have the outside of the building reconstructed based on the historical model. In May 2016 the topping-out ceremony was held for the new building . In March 2017, the first tenants moved into the building, which had been reconstructed for 5.8 million euros.
