The Løken Pond is a pond on the Thatcher Peninsula on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located east of Burnet Cove on the east bank of Maiviken Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1991 after the Lutheran clergyman Kristen Løken (1885-1975) from Lillehammer , Norway , the first pastor of South Georgia, who worked in Grytviken from 1912 to 1914 and had overseen the construction of the local church there.
