The Burnet Cove is a small cove on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 800 m southwest of Mai Point on the east side of Maiviken Bay in Cumberland Bay .
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by polar explorer Otto Nordenskjöld carried out a rough mapping . New measurements were made in 1929 by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations and in 1951 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the bay in 1955 by the English name Burnet for plants of the genus acaena ( Acaena ) that are spread around the bay.
