Career

The right defender Holthuis began his career at TSG Sandershausen and later moved to KSV Hessen Kassel . In 1989 he moved up to the squad of the first team and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 16, 1989 in the 1-0 victory of Kassel at SV Darmstadt 98 . At the end of the season, KSV Hessen only rose because of the poorer goal difference compared to Darmstadt. Holthuis played twelve games, scored one goal and switched to the Westphalian league club Arminia Bielefeld . Here he was only used twice and returned to Kassel in the summer of 1991. Holthuis joined the district league club VfL Kassel before he returned to KSV Hessen after a year and was part of the second team. In 1994 he switched to TSV Heiligenrode , where he ended his career eight years later.
