Lý Hoàng Nam (born February 25, 1997 in Ho Chi Minh City ) is a Vietnamese tennis player .

Career

Lý Hoàng Nam was successful on the ITF Junior Tour. As the first player in his country, he won a Grand Slam title in doubles with Sumit Nagal at Wimbledon in 2015 . In the same year he reached his highest position in the junior ranking with rank 11.

From 2015 Lý also played his first professional tournaments. In addition to his main appearances on the ITF Future Tour , he also played his first match on the ATP Challenger Tour at the Vietnam Open . In 2016, with his first future titles (one in singles, two in doubles) and his first match win with a challenger, again at the Vietnam Open , he made it into the top 700 of the world rankings in singles and doubles. In 2017 he won his second future in the individual and made it into the top 500 for the first time. In 2018 he was able to improve somewhat. Although he did not win any individual titles, he improved his ranking, stood in four future finals and was able to qualify several times for the higher endowed Challenger. In November he was ranked 385 on his career best in singles, in doubles he reached his previous record in mid-2017 with rank 415 and has won five futures so far. Lý is the first tennis player from Vietnam to make it into the top 500 in the world.

Lý Hoàng Nam played for the Vietnamese Davis Cup team for the first time in 2012 at the age of 15 , for which he has a record of 16: 7. In 2015 and 2018 he rose with the team in Continental Group II.
