L'intrigo della lettera

L'intrigo della lettera (The Letter Intrigue) is a one-act Farsa giocosa by the Bavarian composer Johann Simon Mayr . The libretto is by Giuseppe Maria Foppa . The premiere took place on September 24, 1797 in the Teatro San Moisè in Venice . The piece was then staged in the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon .

New productions

On November 19, 1995, the Farsa was performed again in Bergamo, under the musical direction of Roberto Rizzi Brignoli . On this occasion, the work was recorded on phonograms for the first time.
